Because Shomei uses QuickDraw 3D it will only run on a PowerMac - if you haven't got one, Shomei is the best reason for upgrading we know of.
How to Play Shomei:
Look for matching pairs of patterned tiles. Sounds simple doesn’t it. However, they can only be removed if they are not blocked. Click on a tile at the end of a row (they have green edges) - it will highlight if it's available to be removed. Now select a matching tile - if it's not blocked both tiles will disappear.
ie. A tile can be removed if there is space either to the left or to the right of it. Also, the tile must not be blocked underneath another tile.
Use the cursor keys to rotate the view. Zoom in and out with + and - keys.
Sides of tiles are coloured green to aid orientation once the view has been rotated.
Press TAB to show hints. A pair of tiles is suggested to you. Press the cursor left and cursor right keys to find other pairs, then press RETURN to remove that pair. To cancel hint mode, press TAB again.
The alternative Cubes game is chosen on the options screen by clicking on the rotating tile in the bottom left of the screen. In this game the aim is the same: to remove all the pairs of tiles, but this time a tile can only be removed if you can see three sides of the tile.
Press the space bar to pause the game and access the menu options.
